Hail to the chief

After finishing Octavia Butler’s Fledgling, which was good even though I prefer more evil and less anthropology in my vampire fiction, I’ve picked up David McCullough’s John Adams biography. Since I’m not a huge American history buff, I’m a little surprised at how much I’m enjoying it. Aside from how well written it is (it did win a Pulitzer after all), it’s serving as an effective antidote to the sorry state of our government and my general disillusionment with all thing political.

Speaking of vampire fiction, have you read I Am Legend, by Richard Matheson? Also, join in the disillusionment, with Chuck’s SOTU Reaction, over at MN Stories.

I love I Am Legend. It’s weird that you mention it because a friend just recommended the Vincent Price adaptation from the 60s called The Last Man on Earth. That’s going in the Netflix queue immediately.

Chuck’s video made me feel so much better, thank you. I think he might be a genius, or at least has a high tolerance for alcohol.

I think it’s a bit of both with Chuck :-)

Oh, and there’s going to be another film adaptation of I Am Legend out in 2007, from the guy who directed Constantine. Hmmmm.
