V for Vendetta

Since the film adaptation is coming out in March, I thought it was time to re-read Alan Moore and David Lloyd’s V For Vendetta.

While I recognize it’s greatness, I’ve never been a huge fan of Moore’s other masterpiece Watchmen due to Dave Gibbons’ E.C. Comics inspired pencils. I was exposed to a few horror comics at a impressionable age and it’s an icky dread that I still carry with me (Note: never ask me to watch Creepshow, unless you want to see me cry and hide in the bedroom.)

Nevertheless, Alan Moore is a genius and V certainly doesn’t disappoint. The film looks promising too. I’m also excited to see that D.C. Comics has collected Mr. Moore’s best D.C. stories in one convenient volume.

Since there’s also a new, Mignola-penned Hellboy, I think it’s about time for a trip to the comic book store.
