I’ve been reading a lot of Lawrence Lessig lately after seeing him speak at Flashforward Seattle and I’m all fired up about The Family Entertainment and Copyright Act (FECA) and the recent Ryan Adams leak.

While I agree that copyright infringement should be illegal and carry penalties, does jailing a fan for posting pre-release tracks really warrant 10 years in prison? What the hell?

If this represents the emerging values of our society, we really are fucked.
