Forever young (but hopefully not stupid)
Had a great meeting with Gigi last night. Our discussion, originally planned as a meeting about our new project, ended up spinning through superheroes, young adult fantasy fiction, Kelly Clarkson, narcissism, smoking, drinking, Uncle Tupelo, and why I haven’t got off of my lazy ass and posted to this here blog. The most interesting digression by far, was the inevitable discussion of being in our 30’s and why we don’t feel like we’re in our 30’s.
It’s an ongoing conversation and recently seems to be on the lips of everyone from my mom to the pharmacist. Personally, I like to think that we’re witnessing the end of the more soul-crushing aspects of adulthood and not the onset of a permanent adolescence for upwardly-mobile Americans. At least I hope so.
Leave it to the interweb (and New York Magazine) to offer up a perfect encapsulation when needed. Plus, the Star Trek reference doesn’t hurt.

Haven’t had time to read the whole article yet, but you know I will because this is it–this is exactly what we’re talking about. Apparently my geographic arguemtn was totally wrong. I stand corrected. We are grups and we are everywhere!!!

P.S.
Please forgive my bad typing–my geographic “argument” was totally wrong and spelled wrong as well.
