New job

I got a new job yesterday and, while I’m honestly excited about it, it’s a little strange. My boss is leaving tomorrow and once he’s gone, I’ll be the sole survivor of our little university web department. My job is much the same as it was the day before yesterday, except now I have a big, extra helping of responsibility and am busier than I have ever been.

I can’t decide if I’m enjoying the ride or teetering on the edge of hysteria. The secret that no one ever told me about moving into a management position is that there’s not much difference between the two. If I start wearing a Blackberry and using words like synergy, please smack me upside the head.

CONGRATULATIONS!!! You’re going to kick some serious management ass. However, I will most definitely smack you if I ever hear the word *synergy* escape your mouth. A blackberry might be okay though. Those are kinda cool…

  2. Martin Says:

I will be watching you. My extendo-smacker for words like “action-items” is at the ready, so watch it. Otherwise congrats. Maybe this calls for a celebratory lunch or something. I will have to ambush you at work one of these days…

Come to the dark side, Joe. You know you want a Blackberry, or maybe a Treo. Congrats!

  4. Phones Says:

    New Job…

Congratulations! We’ll be looking for the BlackBerry accessories soon…….
