Radiohead in Copenhagen
If last week’s show in Copenhagen is any indication, the new Radiohead album is going to be amazing. I don’t have a favorite yet. They’re all good. Thank god for fan sites.

The video performance of ‘Arpeggi’ on youtube that is linked from that thread is pretty damn amazing. Plus, all the tracks from the 5/6 show are great, esp. ‘Bodysnatchers’ and ‘15 Steps.’ But the best part of the show is that they’re still obviously working out how to do the tracks live, which is not surprising given how much their live versions sometimes have to differ from their studio counterparts, because there are some major, and I mean MAJOR, mistakes in the performances of the new songs. It’s not a problem, in fact it’s kind of nice to hear them working out the kinks - kinks that result because they basically having to interpret their own material so that they can perform it, which is a by product of their writing/recording style.

Agreed on Bodysnatchers and 15 Steps. I also really like Bangers and Mash. While all the songs might be unrecognizable by the album’s release, there are a surprising number of new pop songs. After Kid A, Amnesiac, and Hail to the Thief, that’s pretty incredible. I certainly wasn’t expecting a return to OK Computer territory. Cool!
