While her work in Azure Ray is great, Maria Taylor has a voice and songwriting talent that is so beautiful and comforting that I swear she reminds me of someone that I can’t quite put my finger on. In truth, she’s one of those great artists where listening to her new album "11:11" summons the sense of instant recognition and joy on hearing one of your favorite artists for the first time.

She’s playing Neumos in Seattle on Tuesday night. You should go and since it’s all-ages, take your favorite angsty teenager with you.
