Nobody expects the Spanish Inquisition
With the news that the University of California is being sued by religious schools over creationism, I have finally reached the end of my last dangling nerve. I know that not all Christians have a problem reconciling that you can believe in god AND respect science, but the fundamentalist idiots spreading the rhetoric of "Intelligent Design" need to admit to themselves that ethically and intellectually, they have more in common with the Spanish Inquisition than the founding fathers.

I’m right there with ya Joe. Where are the assertions that Christian Fundamentalists are just as anti-modernity as anybody else out there? Hell, the Founding fathers belief in a God that was an uninvolved observer or watchmaker probably would have gotten Franklin/Jefferson/Madison into some hot water with fabulous people like Tom DeLay and Orrin Hatch.
