Did Yahoo help jail a dissident in China?
According to this report, Yahoo may have collaborated with the Chinese government as they tracked down and jailed a dissident reporter. If true, I’ll be canceling all my accounts with Yahoo, including Flickr, IM, and group subscriptions. However, I’m reserving judgement until the mainstream media picks up the story and Yahoo has a chance to respond.
While I expect shaky ethics from multi-national corporations, this would be unforgivable.

I heard about this too and had the same thought. I’ve had my yahoo email since like 1994… I’ll send them a letter when I cancel. I’ll need to find a flickr replacement. It’s become less functional since the yahoo takeover anyhow.

It looks like this is going to blow over for Yahoo. I’m ditching them anyway. Bye Flickr, I’ll miss you.
