Flickr’s new geotagging feature is lots of fun. Why did I map 200 of my photos? I dunno… just bored I guess. Not much of interest in my photos, but browsing Flickr by map promises to be lots of fun.

Just installed Akismet after reading about it over on Robert Scoble’s blog. Hopefully this means I’ll actually write some blog entries rather than deleting spam all the time. Maybe I should also look at upgrading my WordPress install some day soon.

Yesterday it seemed that iptv genius Ze Frank was ripped off by a doughnut smashing Stephen Colbert. Is it just me or is a strange coincidence that the Pluto riff on today’s episode of Ze’s show had more than a little in common with John Hodgman’s segment on The Daily Show last night?
Ironic meta-joke, […]

…I’ve amassed mountains of take-out containers, watched Alien and Alphaville, swam (and re-swam) the treacherous waters of the first time middle-manager, and stayed up far past my bedtime. I’m just grateful that I haven’t faced the inevitable malaise and bachelorpad-itus that usually comes with an empty house.
I miss the missus.
In other news, The Descent […]

Watching Ok Go’s video for Here it Goes Again, I’m reminded how grateful I am that YouTube and it’s ilk have rescued the music video from MTV’s reality-sleeze wasteland. It’s the perfect match:videos are pure marketing, little commercials for the artists, but have evolved into an artform and fertile training ground for talented filmmakers. […]

If I told you how many quarters I plugged into Dragon’s Lair when I was a video arcade obsessed youngster, I’d probbaly get an angry phone call from my mother. However, it turns out that all I needed was a time machine or 25 years worth of patience:
Dragon’s Lair: Complete.
Now if someone uploads Space […]

The phrase of the day seems to be…

Both an logical response to terrorism and an excellent life philosophy encapsulated in three, little words.

Manquér is a charming stop-motion short about a bike theft, a little boy, and the Tour de France. Seattle filmmakers Matt Daniels and Sean Pecknold of Milk shot the entire film using Nikon digital still cameras.
It really is sweet, clever and stylish in a Jean-Pierre Jeunet sort of way. If you enjoy it, […]

So, the moving has finally come to an end and we’re comfortably nestled into our new home in North Seattle. As if the moving will ever really come to an end. And just in time, because I was beginning to feel grumpy and sort of rough around the edges. At the moment, […]

My brain is finally thawing out after weeks of never ending moving and house-related stuff. We love our new home, but I am so very tired. One brief note: If all you’ve ever seen of Doctor Who is Tom Baker and silly rubber monsters, you’re in for a treat. Russell Davies’ […]
